Make it Count

Make it Count

Make it Count – a performance concert for skipping rope, extended drums, and modular synthesizer. In this work, musician and performer Matteo Haitzmann creates sound bodies and body sounds.

In Make it Count, violinist and performance artist Matteo Haitzmann searches for new concert formats and instrumentations – instrumentations that may initially seem strange and evoke a sense of artificiality. However, once you immerse yourself in them, they make sense – almost like a logical consequence.

This is showcased by the three instruments in Make it Count: skipping rope, extended drums, and modular synthesizer. They simmer individually and together on stage, standing for themselves, being equal, and functioning simultaneously as a sound collective. Together with musicians Judith Schwarz (extended drums) and Arthur Fussy (modular synthesizer), as well as sound designer Lukas Froschauer, a sonic world is created in which the body produces sound and sound becomes bodily.
